DINANT is committed to operate in consistency with the highest international standards and best practices for the security of its operations and the protection of human rights. Also, DINANT respects the laws of the countries in which it operates and applies the highest standards to matters related to patrimonial security carried out by its security staff and / or provided by third parties.

Our Business Security Policy is based on the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VP’s), a commonly accepted reference for asset security operations of companies’ operations.

The Voluntary Principles Program is based on 3 fundamental pillars:

  •  Risk Assessment
  • Interaction with the Public Security Forces
  • Interaction with Private Security providers

In 2013, the company withdrew the use of firearms from security officers at its plantations, oil palm extraction plants, and manufacturing plants. All the men and women of the security staff in these facilities now only use a wand, a whistle and a cell phone, as well as a high visibility vest. Dinant’s courageous and unprecedented decision has been an example for other companies, both in Honduras and in other regions.

In April 2020, we were honored to be officially accepted as committed members of the Voluntary Principles Initiative; a prestigious initiative made up of members of the private sector, governments and NGOs; committed to finding sustainable solutions to improve corporate asset security practices, thus benefiting relationships with members of the communities where they operate.
