Dinant and Operation Smile Honduras sign an agreement to strenghten oral health in patients with cleft lip and palate
Dinant and Operation Smile Honduras signed an agreement to strengthen the project in which they have been collaborating since 2022. This year the foundation received from Dinant the donation of the equipment for a Dental Clinic in the city of San Pedro Sula, where to date, more than 2,000 services have been provided to patients of the foundation through education, prevention and oral health treatments.
Dinant gave Operation Smile Honduras a donation of L 200,000 in order to finance supplies, medications and materials for another year which will allow Operation Smile to continue providing care in 5 dental areas: Pre-surgical Neonatal Orthopedics, Pediatric Dentistry, General Dentistry, Orthodontics and Prosthodontics.
Within the framework of the donation and in order to start its execution a Care Camp took place named “Healthy Smiles” where 25 patients visited the center to receive a complete dental assessment, fluoridations and educational talks oriented to address the subject. As all activities carried out by the foundation, this one was developed with a cheerful and fun tone, where children learn by playing. The activity was led by a group of physicians in dental surgery and accompanied by a group of volunteers of Dinant.
Grabriela Carvajal, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager of Dinant, stated: “for us it is source of price to know the impact indicators that the “dental clinic” has achieved after a year of its inauguration, we are convinced that children with cleft lip and palate condition have the right to receive adequate attention and mostly comprehensive attention by specialists such as in Operation Smile. Today we reaffirm this commitment, and we are committed to keep supporting the sustainability of the clinic to benefit heath of children and young people and general population of our country.”
