Dinant categorically denies the accusations, that, with no basis, were made in local media, by members of the Agrarian Platform and the Coordinator of Popular Organizations of the Aguan (COPA by is Spanish acronym) regarding the participation of the company in the land dispossession and violence in the Aguán Valley.
Dinant joins the clamor of the members of the regional Agrarian Platform of the Aguan Valley and the Coordinator of Popular Organizations of the Aguan (COPA) for a prompt solution to the land conflict that is currently being experienced in the Aguán area.
Dinant is based on the legitimate purchase of land from peasants’ cooperatives that voluntarily sold their properties more than three decades ago and requests the National Agrarian Institute (INA by is Spanish acronym) and the Agrarian Commission to advance in the most rapid manner to guarantee the right to land of its legitimate owners and be able to start a process of reconstruction of peace and trust en the Bajo Aguán region.
Dinant urges all the parties to focus on constructive dialogue and collaboration to achieve sustainable solutions for the region, respecting the rights of all individuals, respecting private property and compliance with all laws.
Dinant has always been, is and will always be respectful of the Law and Fundamental Rights and once again calls on the Governmental authorities to solve the several posed claims and to expedite the corresponding investigation efforts.
