ANNUAL PROGRESS REPORT Dinant Security and Human Rights Implementation Program
Dinant Corporation’s progress in security activities continued with the same commitment to implementation of the Voluntary Principles for Security and Human Rights (VPSHR) and meeting the expectations of the World Bank Group-IFC Performance Standard 4 (PS4). This commitment has been the guiding strategy during a period of transition in the corporate security function.
Among other notable achievements since the last report, Dinant expanded the VPSHR Implementation Program to include all remaining components of Dinant Honduras, including the Sales and Distribution Division.
Dinant is the industry leader in Honduras in providing modern and professional security while respecting human rights, open engagement with all stakeholders and upholding the highest ethical and legal standards. To Dinant’s knowledge, no other agro-business world-wide has adopted and implemented the VPSHR with similar success. While Dinant is proud of these accomplishments, we would be remiss not to acknowledge the encouragement and support of the IFC in developing the VPSHR program and similar social and environmental management systems. Dinant is demonstrating that it is meeting the letter and spirit of IFC standards every day, especially PS4.
This report focuses on the security aspect of Dinant’s operations. Interested stakeholders concerned with Social and Environmental issues should refer to the Dinant website for additional discussion of those programs.
