MIGUEL FACUSSE FOUNDATION FORMALLY OPENS AQUEDUCT IN ZACATE GRANDE, HONDURAS

              Dinant’s Executive President Hails Life-Changing Supply of Drinking Water

                                                              

Miguel Mauricio Facusse – head of Corporación Dinant and President of the Miguel Facusse Foundation, named in honor of Dinant’s founder – recently attended the formal opening of an aqueduct that will deliver fresh water to 500 local families in Zacate Grande.  Requiring an investment of around 2 million lempiras (about US$87,000), the project has been funded by the Miguel Facusse Foundation, the Honduran National Congress, the Mayor of Amapala and others, and will carry a sustainable supply of drinking water to villages in southern Honduras.

Dinant restores Computer Classroom

Continuing with the social projection of The Dinant Group on local education, Exportadora del Atlantico repaired and re-installed all the computers in the Rafael Pineda Ponce School in the community of Astillero, which have been out of service for 4 years and now can be used for the educational formation of the students.

DInant’s Volunteer program in Lean promotes community work in support of education.

With the slogan "I'm a Volunteer", Exportadora del Atlántico of the Dinant Group collaborators along with members of the community of el Astillero, in Lean, joined together to contribute to the integral educational development of children in the Rafael Pineda Ponce School, carrying out a day of volunteer work that included painting the perimeter wall, pruning of the green area and the creation of a park developed from recycled tires.

About 80 families in the Zacate Grande region  in the south of Honduras received their property deeds and are now proud landowners  thanks to the Miguel Facusse Foundation.

Dinant contributes to the development of school gardens

Along with several community leaders, teachers, parents, and students from the community of Astillero, in Leán, Atlántida, Dinant helps develop the “School Garden” Project in the Rafael Pineda Ponce elementary, with the purpose of educating students in better nutrition habits and the process of cultivating their own produce.
